Mintbase is doing a significant update to how the user’s stores are displayed by integrating with the VR world 3XR. Now, not only can users view their store in 2D, but everyone gets their very own Virtual Gallary. The users can share this with their customers, who can walk around the gallery and view the NFTs, whether it’s art, music, 3D objects, tickets or anything minted on their smart contract.

Luis Freitas, one of Mintbase’s engineers, developed 3XR as a space for everyone to create and share spatial content. 3XR also has direct access to the digital economy enabled by Mintbase which is running on NEAR Protocol. 3XR was born to help creators transition to a spatial web that they themselves own.

Luis explains, “I believe NFTs are becoming the building blocks of tomorrow’s web; simply put, they represent where multimedia resources are located within decentralised networks and who owns the resource. I think VR/AR will become the way we explore, consume, create and buy/sell content on the web in the future.”

Luis started the project a few weeks before joining Mintbase, and the following months strongly shaped his vision for 3XR. He began building the 3D world engine based on A-Frame (and Three.js) from scratch. While the initial concept showed potential for payment experiences, exploring of 3D spaces generated by users’ content, and the creation of more complex in-world applications and modules, it was lacking certain modern web development features. While watching an interview with the creator of React Three Fiber (R3F), Luis’s eyes finally opened to the full potential of the library.

Mr Freitas continues, “It’s never an easy decision to change your technology stack halfway through a project, but I believe this will pay off in the long term. R3F taps into the infinite React’s ecosystem, and it’s much easier to find help via open source or building a team. Plus, developers love React!”

The past three months has revolved around creating a new application based on Next, React and R3F and porting most features from the old project to the new one. Today we release the first integration with Mintbase, which offers green, affordable NFTs with forever revenue and split revenue functions.
