October was a very successful month for us as we finally used our technology IRL. As such, we launched utility NFTs that can be redeemed for beers, wines, skateboards and dumplings at local restaurants throughout Lisbon 🇵🇹 We also successfully provided NFT ticketing for NEARcon without touching any centralized platforms like eventbrite.

NFT auction party

Besides constant tech updates we attended three conferences and finished the month off by hosting a packed live auction event (all on-chain) for NEARCON.
It was an invite-only party and access only allowed via this NFT. A few tickets were on sale, but the majority given out at LisCON and NEARCON.

What did we auction off?

This summer, we went to Wilde Moehre festival where we let festival guests draw on a canvas if they provided their NEAR wallet address. Every artist was put in the split revenues & royalties of that single painting. At the NEARcon afterparty, we auctioned off that painting in the first ever on-chain LIVE auction.

The auction was quite heated and a lot of fun- in the end Alex Skidanov, co founder of NEAR, won the auction on one painting. Read his points below.

NEARcon ticketing

For NEARcon, NEAR Team and Mintbase opened a store (smart contract) where different stakeholders and DAOs were added with the permission to mint NFTs. As such, Swagger DAO minted NFT swag and the NEAR team sold NEARcon entrance tickets that could be redeemed at the door. All checked in tickets were displayed on screen.

Lisbon city NFTs

Our awesome team onboarded 7 restaurants and shops throughout the city with a NEAR wallet. Then, we minted NFTs and gave them out at LisCON and NEARcon, to be redeemed against a physical item. By far, the burrito NFTs were the most demanded NFTs 🌯 Scan the map below to learn more about our partnerships or view them here.

LISCON

Mintbase had a booth in the most prime location. We gave away more than 100 NFTs that can be used to redeem burritos, wine and dumplings at 7 different restaurants around the city.

Mintbase Tech updates

*Mintbase’s Stripe integration — this update will enable users to purchase NFTs with fiat currency and will be a gradual rollout to only a few stores at first.

*Reduction in cost to deploy a new Mintbase store: now it only costs 6.5 NEAR for users to deploy their own smart contract. It should also be mentioned that the fee does not go to Mintbase, but is used as a deposit to cover storage costs on NEAR Protocol.

*Removing and adding minters. Watch this video.

*Increased minting. Users can now mint up to 50 NFTs at a time. It’s simple: Go to “create” and select the store where you have minted the NFT. Choose the NFT you want to make more additions of and click on the plus sign. Add up to 50 NFTs.
